In the hot, desert, state of Rajasthan, India, developers are building the world’s largest solar farm of over 10,000 acres (15 square miles). This park is being built as a result of the collaboration between 3 different energy companies. Rajasthan has a high solar irradiation per day making it ideal to build the solar farm. Solar irradiation is defined as the power per unit area, the total amount of energy received from the sun per unit area. Why is the solar farm being built in a desert state?
